1st pick is the Colorado Rockies over the Brewers.
Hammel is having an average season so far with 4.53 ERA. However Parra is having a rough time this year with a 1-4 record. Colorado is not the place to work out kinks in your armor.
2nd pick is the Cubs over the Angles
Silva 8-1 on the season with an Era under 3.
3rd pick is the Nationals over the White Sox
Floyd is off to a rough start being 2-7 with an 5.64 ERA while Strasburg is 2-0 with an 2.19 ERA
4th Pick is Twins over the Phillies
Blackburn is 6-3 with an 4.96 ERA while Blanton is 1-5 with an ERA over 7.

Today picks is from a heated rivalry Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees. The Yankees are 12-3 at home and Phil Hughes is pitching some lights out baseball. He is averaging a strikeout an inning and has only had 14 walks. The Boston Red Sox are 7-8 on the road and sending Daisuke Matsuzaka to the mound. Matsuzaka has dominating strkeout to walk ratio in his last start he struckout 9 with no walks.
I like the under in this game.

Roy Oswalt has been pitching really well however the Huston Astros have only scored 5 runs in his last 4 losses. The Astros are only averaging 2.7 runs per game against right handed pitching. The San Diego Padres have won 10 of the last 15 and 5 of the last 6. I realize that the Padres are getting a great line, bu that seems to easy. This reminds me of when Radke pitched for the Twins. So take the Under.

Today looks pretty tough however the LA Dodgers are not hitting well and have trouble in the club house. It is way to early in the season to be giving up those huge numbers. So take the Pittsburgh Pirates in the huge underdog role.

Off to a rough start so I’ll take a couple of favorites today. I like the Colorado Rockies over the Washington Nationals. Nationals are playing some really good baseball, but usually have an off day on the first game of a road trip. Plus the Rockies have won 22 of the last 28 games against the Nationals.
The other game I really like is the San Francisco Giants against the San Diego Padres. San Diego is playing well but Cain is on the mound for the Giants and getting a great line. Whenever you can get one of the great pitcher with a good line, it is worth the shot.
Please remember these picks are for entertainment purposes.

Bet Milwaukee (Davis) +140
Early season baseball lines are extremely volatile and subject to overreaction based on short term events. That definitely appears to be the case here. The Cubs are a -150 favorite, and that’s based almost exclusively on the performance of the respective starters in their first game of the season. Doug Davis allowed 4 runs in 4 innings of work and didn’t factor in the decision as Milwaukee beat Colorado, while Ryan Dempster pitched 6 innings of 3 hit baseball allowing 1 earned run in a 3-2 loss to Atlanta where he wasn’t involved in the decision. Please regard all picks for entertainment purposes.

Major League Baseball season is upon us and I know the Sports Books are busy. The way I look at betting baseball is real similar to the way I look at betting football. In football anybody who follows my picks will know “I like the points”. In baseball it is pretty much the same except I like the positive line in most cases. I also like certain situations, one of my favorite is going against an average pitcher after he had a great game in his last start. Thinking he cannot do it again.
One of the times I will choose a negative line is when an above average pitcher is playing for a below average team. A great example of this is when Curt Schilling use to play for the Philadelphia Phillies.
Betting Overs/Unders
I don’t really do this much anymore however when I worked in the casino, placing a bet almost everyday, I would take the total score going over if:
1). The total score line was 10 or higher and the line was negative.
2). I never heard of the two pitchers.
My thought was if I have never heard of them, they cannot be a start. I lost count on the number of times I was proven wrong.
Please remember betting is suppose to be for entertainment reasons only! Please don’t bet with money you cannot afford to lose.

I’m not a big basketball fan except for March Madness. In college basketball, I love the fact a that you actually have a playoff and a real championship game. This year I believe the Wolf Pack will be headed to the NIT again. The only way the Reno/Sparks area will have the boys in the NCAA Tournament is if they get the automatic bid. From what I here Louisiana Tech will be the favorite for that. Sorry Utah and New Mexico fans. However The “Pack” should have a good showing as they spread the floor well and can score from multiple points. The biggest advantage for Nevada is the 2010 Wac tournament will be right here in Reno: March 10-12. This will be a great time to take a day off from real estate and take the wife to a game.

As most of you are aware who read my blogs consistently know, I like to take a break from Reno/Sparks Real Estate and talk some NFL. The Minnesota Viking dismantled The Cowboys last week. Farve didn’t look like the old man everyone is trying to say he is. I like the Viking and the points this week. I like the Colt to beat the NEW YORK JETS in the AFC Conference Championships. Setting up a great Super Bowl and a lousy Pro Bowl.

Being a Dallas Cowboys fan you can imagine that I’m pretty happy with last week’s results. I’m really kind of torn this week as Brett Favre is going against the Cowboys. Who doesn’t want to see Brett get a Superbowl Ring so late in his career. Kurt Warner fans that’s who. I like the Arizona Cardinal plus the points this week going against the New Orleans Saints. This one could be fun to watch with a lot of points being scored.
